It's a little hard to get a group picture
I've had requests for new pictures. It doesn't help when the camera goes missing for a month. The old touch doesn't really capture useful pictures. This is from the new phone. it's better but not great.
Poor RyRy has a funny look. Peanut is shouting "cheese" at the top of her lungs. However BigE is smilling. Which is rare so this is a keeper!

Riding Her Big Girl Bike
From the past week or so our little girl has moved up to the training wheels. She's had lots of power on the three wheeler and it didn't take long to get used to the bigger bike.
I bet Mama that if we made a little effort we might be able to get her off the training wheels before the fall. But if she ever did scrape her knees we'd never hear the end of it!

Water Rockets
This week we took a trip to the Science and Tech museum. One of the displays was the water bottle rockets that the kids got to fire. It was a slightly different setup from the one we have at home. It has fins and a cool pressure nozzle on the water bottle.
BigE lined up for a shot
Here's his rocket and one of the others
Peanut decided she wanted a turn. So big brother helped out.
Here's the shot:
Pictures are terrible because they were grabbed with my iPod touch. Which really has a terrible camera ... except compared to no camera.

Thundershowers
Rye and Peanut got a chance to play with some rain when we recently had a day of hard rain. Something like 50 mm during the day.
Here is little Rye venturing out to the rain. It took a few minutes to leave the safety of the garage. He was getting ever so close to the water.
But once he was in it was fun!
Peanut had no problem with the rain but figured it made more sense to get the umbrella. Which to her is about as much fun as playing in the rain.

Baby Avenue had her, tiny bit early, 1st birthday party. Here she is with Rye eating cake. Nothing like yummy cake. Especially to a messy eater like Rye
And the after shot
Enough said!

Quote of the Day 87
Peanut looks during dinner and announces
"There's my mommy, that's my daddy, that's my brother"
Mamma pointing at the end of the table "Who's that?"
Peanut "That's my RyeRye!!"

Rye Help's Himself
Rye has figured out those chairs are good for more then just climbing up on the kitchen table. They also help you raid stuff by the sink on the other side of the kitchen.
And once your up there its target rich environment. There is the tap, the spayers, the dishes in the sink (clean and dirty), the face clothes, and best of all the fruit bowl. Never hurts to help yourself to a snack when no one is looking or helping you!
Mmmm that is some good pear. Now the odd thing is when you grab fruit for work only to find little bites out of it later in the day. Good thing we don't have a rodent problem or I wouldn't be sure the fruit is good!

Dadda Look at Me!
Peanut isn't feeling well tonight. She actually asked to go to bed, early. That has never, ever, ever happened. Here are some pics grabbed on the weekend as she peaked out the playhouse to get my attention. We were using the playhouse wheel to chase the pirate piggies from Dora.

That Reminds Me ...
It's been a little windy around our parts and that has cause a bunch of power outages. Some people are not happy with how we're getting updates on the progress to restore power.
In the spirit of our, possible, new rulers in the NDP. I would like to suggest everyone to get used this problem if we "go green" with our power supply.
From a few months ago: Lawrence Solomon: Don’t count on constant electricity under renewable energy, says UK electricity CEO
Electricity consumers in the UK will need to get used to flicking the switch and finding the power unavailable, according to Steve Holliday, CEO of National Grid, the country’s grid operator. Because of a six-fold increase in wind generation, which won’t be available when the wind doesn’t blow, “The grid is going to be a very different system in 2020, 2030,” he told BBC’s Radio 4. “We keep thinking that we want it to be there and provide power when we need it. It’s going to be much smarter than that.
Maybe your OK with that.

Re "A Visit to the Sugar Bush" I grabbed a small sequence of photos. The kids were hanging out in the little garden. They were looking cute at the end the of the pond.
Then Mama called out "I'm going to get you!"
Off they went with Mama hot in pursuit.
Around the bridge they ran to get away
BigE was faster a foot.
BigE proving that you don't have to out run the wild animal just someone else in your group. Poor Peanut lost. To be fair those boots probably slowed here down quite a bit.

A Visit to the Sugar Bush
On the weekend we visited the Sugar bush as part of Mama's birthday weekend. The kids had a pretty good time with an egg hunt, farm animals, and a giant breakfast.
On the way out we checked out the "Big Chair". The kids were quite pleased by it.
Some egg hunting pictures working from oldest to youngest.
Yeah Rye wasn't getting very far but he had fun chewing on the eggs.
The kids visited the animals in the barn
Here is Peanut checking out the rabbits. She was getting a boost up by my foot.
BigE and the cattle.
The gang out by the horses. Peanut with her "Do you see this? Hi horsey!!" look
Mama and little Rye checking out the horse.
I'm Super
Peanut informed me the other day "I Super" and handed me her blanky. After figuring out she wanted a cape I grabbed these photos.
This was an action shot that really captured the moment.

Measuring Stick?
I'm not really sure what's going on here. I just found this photo of BigE and Rye.
Is BigE stablizing the two tippy towers? Is he measuring the height of his tower or brother? Who knows. At least BigE is very good with Rye.

Rye Climing Montage
I'm not saying all he does is climb because that wouldn't be true but when the child does want to climb he sure seems capable. Considering there were taken before he turned one.
This is the "I'm not in the way look am I?"
Here's Rye pleased with himself. Step 1 pick a chair, step 2 pull youself up, step 3 grab onto the table and pull yourself up. And finally step 4 pillage anything left on the table.
This one fortunately he has stopped with. He's gotten higher but I wanted to snap the picture before he got too high.

That Time of the Year
Uhhhhh Earth Hour. Then Ross McKitrick sums up my attitude with this Earth Hour: Why I will leave my lights on
I abhor Earth Hour. Abundant, cheap electricity has been the greatest source of human liberation in the 20th century.
and
If, after all this, we are going to take the view that the remaining air emissions outweigh all the benefits of electricity [...] then we are setting up unspoiled nature as an absolute, transcendent ideal that obliterates all other ethical and humane obligations.

Peanut Wants to Sing Along
Peanut had "practiced" singing with Mama this week. So come Sunday she wanted in. She managed to sneak/conjole her way up for the last song. Here's a snippet. It's a little hard to see in the small format but you can watch Peanut following Mama.
Note you make the video full screen in the bottom right corner.
Also note the video is grainy because it was shot with my iPod Touch. Which is terrible.

So I'm coming back ....
from getting a cup of coffee. (Which is usually how I start a tale of woe. Not this time though.) When something catches my eye outside.
But what do I see? Bambi moving through the woods. Well probably not the real Bambi.
The pics aren't great because I grabbed them with my Ipod Touch. Which only produces photos at the "Proof of Sasquach" level of clarity.
PS If you look hard enough in the upper right isn't that him right there?

Littl'uns Are Doing Better
Leaving the Littluns are Sick post up let everyone know the kids weren't doing well. Based on the feedback it sounds like I need to let you know they are feeling much better. Now if Rye just slept through the night.

Littl'uns are sick
This is a repost of the Peanut pic. But picture her on the couch and you have what she's feeling like. RyeRye isn't must better.
I've heard through the grapevine, aka phone, that BigE is heading out to Auntie Bevie's for some fun.
