And finally bringing the Christmas Concert series to a close is this.
During all this singing I noticed the teacher working hard to keep the kids singing and in time with the actions. I couldn't resist capturing a couple seconds of what was going on in front of the stage.

Besure to check out the kid on the far left at the beginning. He seems to be losing his head band.

This morning was the Kindergarten Christmas concert. There were four classes (two senior and two junior) up singing. They each did a couple of songs. BigE's class was up first. They sang "It's a Small World" which is what that thing hanging around their neck is. It's a little Styrofoam world covered in blue and green tissue paper.
Here's a dump of the pictures. The picture quality isn't the best. Even for a gym with our camera. Not sure why though. I have a few video's that I'm uploading so stay tuned.

Bugger off.
I finished my last assignment for the semester last night. 11 pages of regression analysis. Now there is only two exams left. Not that isn't much of a good excuse because after that there will be Christmas or New Year or whatever.

Well OK maybe it was only one way. And I remmeber one glorious year when Dada's little sister started and I got rides all the time.
Well BigE has a preferred method of transportation to school
Thankfully school is only 400 metres away.

Dada "Yeah? What is it"
BigE "Soap"
"Scrube"
"Rinse"
"Dry"
"Keep the germs away"

Here's BigE ready to head out for another day of school. The best thing about daycare right now is it makes school seem like so much fun.
Finally getting BigE to turn and smile.
Notice this pair of sport style sunglasses. Over a year ago we were trying to get BigE to wear those because he was always complaining about the sun. Nope. Nada. No luck. Now we can't get them off.
If you've been paying attention to the pictures you'll have noticed that we are working through three pairs of sunglasses lately. If you don't believe me take a look at the recent posts again.

BigE's first full day, full class, full 2.5 hour day of school* happened today. According to polling data support for school was a little soft through the early morning. However the breaking news that Lunar Jim could be taped for later seemed to strengthen support.
*There's so many asterisks on a day of school now it's starting to look like the home run record page from baseball.

well really it's part 2 to First Day of School ... sort of.
Yesterday we went in for the full 2.5 hour Junior Kindergarten period. From 8:00 to 8:30 I was being pestered to go to school. Somebody was very excited to go to school.
At 8:35 we headed out the door:
We then started walking to the school
We arrived at 8:45 just as the playground is opening up for the kids. BigE hung out with Dada for a minute as a gaggle of kids came pouring off a school bus. He then headed off to play in the playground. Not knowing many of the kids he just joined into the general maylay.
Now after 5 minutes he spotted Dada talking to another parent and was starting to look sad. So we meet at the playground gate and had a quick hug. BigE seemed to be doing good. I then snapped into daycare drop off routine to make things easier.
We played a quick game of where's the door? where's the car parked?
As I was leaving I was peaking over the row of minivans parked in the drop off zone and BigE was having fun playing on the play structure.
Coming up next Monday ... First Day of School on a full week of school!

BigE had his first day of school yesterday. We walked down to the public school at 11:00 to have a meeting with his new teacher. For the first week the kids in Junior Kindergarten (or JK) go to individual meetings with the teacher. Then next week the classes start. Even then the first couple of days it's half classes.
Things went pretty well. BigE was a little shy but other wise engaged. He was really into cutting up some construction paper. He found his calling when he found a table with something called "Lacy Toy". A bunch of plastic blocks, many shaped like 'H's, that you stack and build with. The table top had a footing for the blocks as well. That table was clearly a hit.
By the end we went around the outside of the classroom to find BigE's hook. He's in the walker section. Which, simply, means that he's close enough that he's not bused to school.
So now we have a Waker and a Walker.

Just after putting BigE to bed. I'm on my way out the door when
BigE "I don't like going to daycare"
Dada "That's ok. You won't like going to school either"
silence ...

Last night we were off to a school play that big cousin Eric was in. After an hour and ten of entertainment here is a 48 second video of Eric's big moment.
BigE was really digging the recorded 60's tunes and the music from the band.

School prep seems to have taken on a new meaning. Books, pencils, or backpacks? No. We're on the J-K level. That is working on recognizing our ABCs, doing up the button on our pants and wiping our bum by ourselves. The new cry in the house is
"Daddy I did it by MYSELF"
