More Tubing

Here's a video of BigE and myself riding together on our day of tubing

Can You Read Me

Apparently we're having technical difficulties. Can any of our regular readers drop a comment.

24 in 1994

Yes Jack Bauer 24.

Been sending this to a couple of people that hadn't seen it. I thought I'd post it here. (Note how I didn't send everyone an email that had been forwarded fifty times.)

From the fall but funny as heck. Plus think of how far we've come in 15 years.24: The Unaired 1994 Pilot

Tubing

BigE and I headed to the ski hills to do some tubing last weekend. Despite several days of above zero temperatures they still had some snow. It was a beautiful day, almost 6 degrees.

After BigE had gone with Mama and Auntie Bevie a few weeks ago he was pumped to go today

There was a little converyor belt to take the tubes up the hill. Head to your right and your on the bunny slope. Head to your left and you have a choice of two tubing hills.
You can just make out someone on a tube at the bottom of the big hill for a sense of size.

After a couple of dozen runs we were getting tired. BigE found a way to conserve energy.

When the crowds were getting small we were getting runs done in 4 minute intervals. Slide down the hill one at a time. Meet up. Walk around the hut to the conveyor. That ride up was the slowest part. Then a short hop up the hill and it starts all over again.

Here's a video of a run:

Note how BigE was getting into the spins. This wasn't the fastest he was spinning either. One time he said a big spin and we weren't going together. So I didn't temper his enthusiasm. The guy gave him a big old spin. I thought I was going to find him at the bottom of the hill sick. But no sir he had a blast.

Wii Wii Wii all the Way Home!

BigE has the Wii bug. Tonight at bed time he cut to his serious voice near the end.

"Dada for Christmas I want the sports Wii"

The previous night he had told Mama

"Mama can we get the sports Wii for my Birthday."

Apparently he had decided on his Birthday the day before so that we know what to get him. After all Santa may not know.

Quote of the Day 73

The gang is at our place tonight for home church Wii. Yeah I'm not 100% on what that means either. BigE is heading to bed after playing some Mario racing game when he starts telling me

"I like that Wii. There's racing Wii, sports Wii, Pirates Wii. I bet in Pirates Wii you have to fight them with your swords"

I smile and nod. I assume he's thinking games. Later Mama goes up stairs to find him awake. (He's complaining about the noise). When he tells her

"Make sure you get the name of the Wii and look at the front of the box so we know which one it is"

Somebody is hooked

A Little Ditty I Missed

I'm checking out the always good Carpe Diem when I see this

"Canadians Pay 2x as much for Generic Drugs"

In 2007, Canadians paid more than twice as much as Americans paid for the same generic medicines. The evidence suggests that generic retail drug prices are higher in Canada than they are in the United States because of various provincial and federal policies in Canada that are not found in the US. In particular, there are 3 policies that are chiefly responsible for distorting retail price competition for generic drugs in Canada.

As some one used to say "What the hell?" Click on the link to see the chart and read the short description of the three issues.

Then I think how did I miss this study? Where was the news. Hmmmm

Nothing on CBC
Nothing on CTV

I'd label this a rant except I'm not talking about paying somebody $11 to count to 90. Not yet anyways. Who needs competition.

Quote of the Day 72

BigE comes home from school the other day a little peeved.

Mama asks "What's wrong?"

BigE "Madame wouldn't let me keep my box. I had to throw it out!"

Mama "What box?"

BigE "My raisin box!"

That's the mini one inch by half inch pack of raisins. That boy sure loves a cardboard box

The Worstest Day Ever!!

Yesterday I asked BigE how was school?
He responded with, It was the worstest day ever.
Really? Why?
Today we had to jump rope.
I like to jump but I HATE to jump rope.
I like noodle ball and soccer but I HATE to jump rope.
I explained that they couldn't only play the games that he liked, they had to play other peoples favorite games too. Oddly that didn't seem to help.

Are you going to post that on the Blob?

Big E was at the table when Mama was telling Dada that we should do a blog post to share Peanut's food likes and dislikes. Since then whenever Mama is feeding Peanut BigE asks

"Are you going to post that on the Blob?"

Mama wasn't sure weather to correct that or not because it was just soooo cute!

We have started Peanut on food, after trying sweet potato (yuck), banana (yuck) and pears (yuck) peanut finally found something that she likes ... peaches. Since then she has also decided that carrots and prunes are acceptable.
