We were in TO the past weekend so we decided to head to Medieval Times. It's a dinner show with knights done in an old arena. They have it dressed up (or rather down) to match the period. With plenty of gift shops.
The dinner was half a chicken, a rib, soup, potato, garlic bread and dessert. All eaten medieval style with your bare hands. The chicken and soup were pretty good. The potato, was well, just half a potato roasted and seasoned. Themed I guess you'd call it.
They had 6 knights. Your champion is based on which section you were sitting in. We were in the Blue section. Against the riding, horse and falconing demonstrations there is a sub plot about the prince being kidnapped. That was a little hard to make out with a scared little boy in your lap. (I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10 it was really about a 4.)
The knights jousted and had swordplay. This was during the second half of the show. It was around this time BigE started coming out of his shell. It was a pretty good show. I was curious how they would knock each other off their horses. Given they do 8 or 9 shows a week.
We picked up some tickets on a 2 for 1 deal which made it all worth it. We had the flexibility to do that. With scared boy the 2 for 1 made it worth all the "Its scary" talk during the first half.
Nanny Barb picked the boys up a souvenir from the gift shop. So now we have a wooden medieval shield with a picture of a blue knight on it. BigE loves it. Thanks Nanny Barb.
